Mackenzie Mays is a reporter at the Los Angeles Times.

Since graduating WVU in 2012 with a degree in journalism, she has worked as an investigative reporter for Politico, the Fresno Bee and the Charleston Gazette. 

She is the recipient of a National Press Club Press Freedom Award and WVU’s P.I. Reed Young Alumna Award. 

She worked at the Daily Athenaeum starting in 2009 as a reporter and editor in both the arts & entertainment and city sections. She is from Kanawha County, West Virginia and resides in Sacramento, California.
